30-DAY STORYLEARNING® CHALLENGE

Perfect Pronouns

Take our grammar-slaying, fluency-boosting June challenge and master German personal and possessive pronouns once and for all!

Start Date: 1 June

If you struggle with all those tricky German pronouns, then I’ve got news for you…

You’re not alone!

In fact, German learners from London to Leipzig have a hard time getting to grips with this deceptively tricky part of the language.

  • Memorising all the pronoun rules in your textbook, but still feeling lost when you need to use them
  • Remembering all the different genders and forms of each pronoun
  • And choosing which case to use so your sentences are grammatically correct and make sense

And doing all of that while face-to-face with a native German speaker!

German packs a lot into its pronouns:
  • case
  • number
  • gender

The most common pronouns, like ich, du, er, and wir are pretty easy to keep track of.

But when we get to sie … and Sie … things start to get tricky. (What's the difference anyway?)

Add in German possessive pronouns (in English: my, your, his, her, our, their …) and things get really troublesome:

  • sie/sie/ihr … but sie/sie/ihnen … and then Sie/Sie/Ihnen!
  • ihr/euer/eure .. but sie/ihr/ihre (and Sie/Ihr/Ihre)!
  • And what about er/sein/seine and es/sein/seine!

It's enough to make you feel like you'll never truly get your head around German pronouns. They are just one of those things you'll have to live with, right?

Well, not so fast...

Help is at hand!

I’ve created a unique 30-day challenge, Perfect Pronouns, that will help you learn and internalise German personal and possessive pronouns, so you can use pronouns confidently and correctly and sound like an accomplished and intelligent adult in German. As a result, you'll be able to finally enjoy your conversations with native German speakers.

No more boring grammar textbooks.

No more memorising rules.

And most importantly...

No more frustrating German pronoun mistakes when you chat with your German-speaking family and friends.

Introducing the June Challenge:

"Perfect Pronouns"

With…

Here’s how the challenge works.

The challenge is based on an exciting original story in German that develops over the 30 days of the challenge.

This is a brand new story, written exclusively for this 30-Day Challenge.

We’ve created the story to be jam-packed with examples of German personal and possessive pronouns. Every possible use of German pronouns - all of the genders, singular and plural, each of the cases - is covered in our challenge.

Every day, you’ll receive one new chapter of the story, along with short video lessons and simple exercises to help you understand how German pronouns are used in the story.

It'll take you about 15 minutes each day.

All you have to do is show up every day…

Over the course of the month, the daily immersion will help you absorb the grammar naturally, until you "just know" instinctively how German pronouns work and which forms to use in your sentences.

The result is that you'll be able to speak German confidently without worrying about pronouns or trying to figure things out in your head before you talk.

Instead, you'll use German pronouns freely and fluently, because...

1) You'll instinctively know which forms to use and...

2) The pronouns you need will already be where you need them - on the tip of your tongue!

Here's What's Included...

The concept is beautifully simple!

Every day, for 30 days, you’ll get:

  • One 250-word chapter of our German story (jam-packed examples of German pronouns in context)
  • The written story plus audio book (so you can read or listen...wherever you are!)
  • A short 5-minute video lesson with our instructor, Jennifer. (She’ll explain the usage of the German pronouns in the story)
  • A short daily practice exercise (to help you remember what you’ve learned)
  • Discussion with dozens of fellow challengers in our interactive Facebook group (so you can discuss the story and get answers to questions).

We’ve carefully structured the entire 30 days, so all you have to do is turn up and get stuck in!

Frequently Asked Questions

What level is the challenge for?
Both the story and the lesson content is aimed at A2-B1 level. (That's high-beginner to low-intermediate). In other words, this is for you if you've been studying German for a little while (or maybe a long while!) and can understand at least some German, but struggle to use German pronouns in a comfortable and natural way.
How can I access the challenge?
Mobile, desktop, laptop, tablet... The challenge is super user-friendly and you'll be able to log on from anywhere!
What exactly will I learn? How will this challenge help me?
During this challenge, we'll focus on German personal and possessive pronouns in all genders and cases, recycled over and over throughout the story. You'll see German pronouns used in a number of different common situations over and over in the story. This means you'll learn the various uses and forms of German pronouns to the point where they're effortless and automatic and you'll learn to know instinctively how to use them correctly.
What if it's too hard, or my level is too low?
To make the challenge achievable, we've kept each chapter short - only 250 words! This means that you'll be able to easily make it to the end of the chapter each day, even if it does take you a little longer. However, the daily video lessons will give you all the support you need, as you'll have clear, professional explanations for why and how pronouns are used in the story. This means that, even if you're really unsure about German pronouns right now, just by watching and studying the daily videos, you'll learn to think about them like a native speaker by the end of the challenge. If I had my way, this is the only way students would ever learn German grammar!
What's so special about this "StoryLearning" method anyway?
Most German students try to learn personal and possessive pronouns through rules. This doesn't work, and is extremely stressful for you as a learner. Why? Because there are lots of so-called "rules" and it's impossible to hold them all in your head at the same time while you're speaking. It's also not a natural approach ... native speakers don't learn grammar with rules, after all! With the "Perfect Pronouns" challenge, you'll learn through example and context, just like native speakers do! The magic of learning through story is that your main focus is actually not on the grammar... you concentrate on understanding and enjoying the story! As you're reading and listening to the story, German pronouns will begin to lodge themselves subconsciously in your brain. It doesn't happen right away - in fact it may take a couple of weeks for you to feel the real effects. But by the end of the 30 days, you'll have a native-like command of German pronouns that will amaze you.
I'm not sure I can commit for 30 days
Your daily commitment is only 15 minutes. This is because the principle of the challenge is that "little and often is the best way to learn". 15 minutes is a pretty manageable amount of time to devote to your German. You can fit it in comfortably: • before breakfast • during your lunch break • after dinner • ...even while waiting for the bus! The power is in the consistency - working at it for a short time every day. You'll be amazed at the huge progress you make from simply showing up every day to work on one area of your German! Remember, you get the audio of the story, as well as the text, so you can easily take part and keep up wherever you happen to be!
What if I am unhappy with the challenge?
I would never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with the challenge, contact me at any point during the challenge and I'll issue you full and prompt refund.
How long do I have access to the course after the end of the challenge?
How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own.
