It's easy to feel like you'll never truly get your head around spoken German.

Well, not so fast...

Help is at hand!

I’ve created a unique 30-day challenge, Spoken German Made Simple, that will help you understand fast, spoken German (the way it's spoken on the street), so you can finally understand what you hear, and take a more active part in conversations in German.

If you've tried learning German in school, or by yourself with textbooks, but you've hit a roadblock, then this challenge is just what you need!

It's like nothing you've tried before.

And the method might come as a bit of a shock...

But if you're ready for a breakthrough in your German, then this might be the best thing you'll try all year…

Introducing the July Challenge:

"Spoken German Made Simple"

Here’s how the challenge works.

The challenge is based on an exciting original story in German that develops over the 30 days of the challenge.

This is a brand new story, written exclusively for this 30-Day Challenge.

Unlike normal stories, this story is jam-packed with colloquial spoken German. The story is in dialogue format and uses all of the key conversational quirks that make spoken German different from "textbook German".

But it's not just the story...

Every day, you’ll receive one new chapter of the story, along with short video lessons and simple exercises to help you understand how the spoken German is used in the story.

It'll take you about 15 minutes each day.

All you have to do is show up every day…

Over the course of the month, the combination of immersion and training will help you absorb colloquial spoken German naturally, until you "just know" instinctively what German people mean when they speak.

The result is that you'll be able to speak German confidently and naturally, without sounding like a robot.

You'll emerge at the end of the 30 days with a deep, instinctive understanding of how spoken German works!

Here's What's Included...

The concept is beautifully simple!

Every day, for 30 days, you’ll get:

  • One 250-word chapter of our German story (jam-packed examples of spoken German in context)
  • The written story plus audio book (so you can read or listen...wherever you are!)
  • A short 5-minute video lesson with our instructor, Jennifer. (She’ll explain the spoken German in the story)
  • A short daily practice exercise (to help you remember what you’ve learned)
  • Discussion with dozens of fellow challengers in our interactive Facebook group (so you can discuss the story and get answers to questions).

We’ve carefully structured the entire 30 days, so all you have to do is turn up and get stuck in!

Frequently Asked Questions

What level is the challenge for?
Both the story and the lesson content is aimed at A2-B1 level. (That's high-beginner to low-intermediate). In other words, this is for you if you've been studying German for a little while (or maybe a long while!) and can understand at least some German, but struggle to express yourself in a comfortable and natural way.
How can I access the challenge?
Mobile, desktop, laptop, tablet... The challenge is super user-friendly and you'll be able to log on from anywhere!
What exactly will I learn? How will this challenge help me?
During this challenge, we'll focus on spoken German and how it differs from written German and "textbook German". You'll see examples of natural spoken German recycled over and over throughout the story. This means you'll learn how spoken German works to the point where you can understand and us it effortlessly. You'll get daily lessons from Jennifer, where you'll learn why specifically how spoken German works in each chapter of our story. This means you'll develop an intuitive and native-like understanding of the language.
What if it's too hard, or my level is too low?
To make the challenge achievable, we've kept each chapter short - only 250 words! This means that you'll be able to easily make it to the end of the chapter each day, even if it does take you a little longer. However, the daily video lessons will give you all the support you need, as you'll have clear, professional explanations of how spoken German is used in the story. This means that, even if you're really unsure about spoken German right now, just by watching and studying the daily videos, you'll learn to think about it like a native speaker by the end of the challenge. If I had my way, this is the only way students would ever learn German!
What's so special about this "StoryLearning" method anyway?
Most German students try to learn the language through grammar rules and rote memorisation. This doesn't work, and is extremely stressful for you as a learner. Why? Because there are lots of rules and thousands of words to learn and it's impossible to hold them all in your head at the same time while you're speaking. It's also not a natural approach ... native speakers don't learn with memory tricks, after all! With the "Spoken German Made Simple" challenge, you'll learn through example and context, just like native speakers do! The magic of learning through story is that your main focus is actually not on the memorising anything... you concentrate on understanding and enjoying the story! As you're reading and listening to the story, the quirks of spoken German will begin to lodge themselves subconsciously in your brain. It doesn't happen right away - in fact it may take a couple of weeks for you to feel the real effects. But by the end of the 30 days, you'll have a native-like command of spoken German that will amaze you.
I'm not sure I can commit for 30 days
Your daily commitment is only 15 minutes. This is because the principle of the challenge is that "little and often is the best way to learn". 15 minutes is a pretty manageable amount of time to devote to your German. You can fit it in comfortably: • before breakfast • during your lunch break • after dinner • ...even while waiting for the bus! The power is in the consistency - working at it for a short time every day. You'll be amazed at the huge progress you make from simply showing up every day to work on one area of your German! Remember, you get the audio of the story, as well as the text, so you can easily take part and keep up wherever you happen to be!
What if I am unhappy with the challenge?
I would never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with the challenge, contact me at any point during the challenge and I'll issue you full and prompt refund.
How long do I have access to the course after the end of the challenge?
How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own.
