30-DAY STORYLEARNING® CHALLENGE

Victorious Verb Pairs

Take our grammar-slaying, fluency-boosting April challenge and master the most dastardly and deceptive Spanish verb pairs once and for all!

Start Date: 1 April

If you struggle with Spanish verbs, then I’ve got news for you…

You’re not alone!

In fact, Spanish learners the world over have a hard time getting to grips with tricky Spanish verb pairs:

  • conocer vs. saber
  • llevar vs. traer
  • ser vs. estar

And countless more!

When the difference in meaning between a pair of verbs is so subtle... how on earth are you supposed to remember which is which?

And getting it right while face-to-face with a native Spanish speaker!

  • Is it "no sé" ... OR "no conozco"?
  • And what's the difference anyway?

It's easy to feel like you'll never truly get your head around these subtly sneaky Spanish verbs. It's just one of those things you'll have to live with, right?

Well, not so fast...

Help is at hand!

I’ve created a unique 30-day challenge, "Victorious Verb Pairs", that will help you learn and internalise tricky Spanish verb pairs, so you can use them confidently and correctly in conversation with native Spanish speakers.

No more sounding like a "gringo".

No more rote memorisation.

And most importantly...

No more embarrassing Spanish verb mix-ups when you chat with your Spanish-speaking family and friends.

Introducing the April Challenge:

"Victorious Verb Pairs"

With...

Here’s how the challenge works.

The challenge is based on an exciting original story in Spanish that develops over the 30 days of the challenge.

This is a brand new story, written exclusively for this 30-Day Challenge.

We’ve created the story to be jam-packed with examples of 30+ tricky Spanish verbs pairs used in all key verb tenses.

(That's over 60 verbs you'll learn to master during the course of our challenge!)

Every day, you’ll receive one new chapter of the story, along with short video lessons and simple exercises to help you understand how the verbs are used in the story.

It'll take you about 15 minutes each day.

All you have to do is show up every day…

Over the course of the month, the daily immersion will help you absorb these verb pairs naturally, until you "just know" instinctively which one to use and when.

The result is that you'll be able to speak Spanish confidently without worrying about mixing up your verbs or trying to figure things out in your head before you talk.

Instead, you'll use Spanish verbs freely and fluently, because...

1) You'll instinctively know which verb to use and...

2) The verbs will already be where you need them - on the tip of your tongue!

Here's What's Included...

The concept is beautifully simple!

Every day, for 30 days, you’ll get:

  • One 250-word chapter of our Spanish story (jam-packed examples of tricky Spanish verbs in context)
  • The written story plus audio book (so you can read or listen...wherever you are!)
  • A short 5-minute video lesson with our instructor, Ana. (She’ll explain the usage of the verbs in the story)
  • A short daily practice exercise (to help you remember what you’ve learned)
  • Discussion with dozens of fellow challengers in our interactive Facebook group (so you can discuss the story and get answers to questions).

We’ve carefully structured the entire 30 days, so all you have to do is turn up and get stuck in!

Frequently Asked Questions

What level is the challenge for?
Both the story and the lesson content are aimed at A2-B1 level. (That's high-beginner to low-intermediate). In other words, this is for you if you've been studying Spanish for a little while (or maybe a long while!) and can understand at least some Spanish, but struggle use some of the most common verbs in a comfortable and natural way.
How can I access the challenge?
Mobile, desktop, laptop, tablet... The challenge is super user-friendly and you'll be able to log on from anywhere!
What exactly will I learn? How will this challenge help me?
During this challenge, we'll focus on 30+ tricky Spanish verb pairs in all common tenses, recycled over and over throughout the story. You'll see these verbs used in a number of different common situations over and over in the story. This means you'll learn the subtle differences between them to the point where they're effortless and automatic and you'll learn to know instinctively how and when to use them.
What variety of Spanish do you use in the course?
We use neutral Spanish where possible, but use Castilian Spanish where a choice must be made. Ana, our tutor, is from Spain. But let me be clear: This challenge is for all learners and all varieties of Spanish. When it comes to the language, you need to learn to think like a native. And native Spanish speakers have the same internal understanding of Spanish...wherever they come from. It's this native-like understanding of Spanish that you'll develop from this challenge. True, there are some variations in the language from country to country, but the differences are small and easily adaptable.
What if it's too hard, or my level is too low?
To make the challenge achievable, we've kept each chapter short - only 250 words! This means that you'll be able to easily make it to the end of the chapter each day, even if it does take you a little longer. However, the daily video lessons will give you all the support you need, as you'll have clear, professional explanations for why and how the verb pairs are used in the story. This means that, even if you're really unsure about these Spanish verbs right now, just by watching and studying the daily videos, you'll learn to think about them like a native speaker by the end of the challenge. If I had my way, this is the only way students would ever learn Spanish!
What's so special about this "story" method anyway?
Most Spanish students try to learn verb pairs through rules. This doesn't work, and is extremely stressful for you as a learner. Why? Because there are lots of so-called "rules" and it's impossible to hold them all in your head at the same time while you're speaking. It's also not a natural approach ... native speakers don't learn the language with rules, after all! With the "Victorious Verb Pairs" challenge, you'll learn through example and context, just like native speakers do! The magic of learning through story is that your main focus is actually not on the verbs... you concentrate on understanding and enjoying the story! As you're reading and listening to the story, these tricky verbs will begin to lodge themselves subconsciously in your brain. It doesn't happen right away - in fact it may take a couple of weeks for you to feel the real effects. But by the end of the 30 days, you'll have a native-like command of tricky Spanish verbs that will amaze you.
I'm not sure I can commit for 30 days
Your daily commitment is only 15 minutes. This is because the principle of the challenge is that "little and often is the best way to learn". 15 minutes is a pretty manageable amount of time to devote to your Spanish. You can fit it in comfortably: • before breakfast • during your lunch break • after dinner • ...even while waiting for the bus! The power is in the consistency - working at it for a short time every day. You'll be amazed at the huge progress you make from simply showing up every day to work on one area of your Spanish! Remember, you get the audio of the story, as well as the text, so you can easily take part and keep up wherever you happen to be!
What if I am unhappy with the challenge?
I would never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with the challenge, contact me at any point during the challenge and I'll issue you full and prompt refund.
How long do I have access to the course after the end of the challenge?
How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own.
